Dr Nish Athukorale

Dr Nish has been practising medicine in Australia since migrating with her family in 2018. She graduated from medical school in Sri Lanka in 2006 and brings extensive clinical experience from both the Sri Lankan and Australian healthcare systems.

Dr Nish is a General Practitioner at Strathalbyn Family Medical Centre, with experience working across rural and metropolitan healthcare settings. Her clinical background includes emergency medicine, inpatient (ward-based) care and general practice, allowing her to provide comprehensive, high-quality care for individuals and families in the Strathalbyn community.

She finds general practice to be a deeply rewarding profession and is passionate about supporting patients to achieve better health, wellbeing and long-term outcomes through personalised, preventative care.

Dr Nish’s special interests include chronic disease management, mental health, women’s health and paediatrics, and she welcomes patients of all ages to Strathalbyn Family Medical Centre.

Outside of her medical career, Dr Nish enjoys travelling, spending time with her family, exploring nature and reading in her leisure time.
